A little Hocus Pocus

I know. I know. I haven't been posting much, but it's been hard to get any new projects done with my current round of committments. So what have I been doing? Working and football, football... football. Sigh.

But that doesn't mean that I haven't been working on them in my head. In those quiet moments while waiting for son to finish football practice or during break at work, I started plotting. With all the great fall decorating ideas out there I was dying to get into it and create one of my own.

This is my latest creation. It started life as a wooden box top for a cheese round. Something I inherited from my mother's stash. Somewhere along the way I painted the top a red rust color and then stopped, unable to figure out which direction to go. It wasn't until this week that I realized I need some early fall decorations. Hence, this....

And, while dragging hubby to Georgetown on a genealogy expedition we stopped at Robin Hood Marina. It was a beautiful warm day, just right for picture taking. During the summer it's far too busy to get close to the dock, but this day it was quiet. So, for now I'll leave you with this great shot of the marina.
